Mulce is now part of of DataCite directory (datacite.org/repolist ) which lists repositories for research data

DataCite directory initated via a collaboration between the British Library, BioMed Central and the Digital Curation Centre, that aims to capture the growing number of repositories for research data.

Mulce team does believe that research data should received full references. We will soon publish here the references of corpora deposit in Mulce (http://repository.mulce.org)

We have already given an overview of the contents of our repository in this article. But we will soon list them as recommended by DataCite.

Why cite data?

We believe that you should cite data in just the same way that you can cite other sources of information, such as articles and books. Data citation can help by:

enabling easy reuse and verification of data
allowing the impact of data to be tracked
creating a scholarly structure that recognises and rewards data producers

Examples of data citation

We recognise that the challenges associated with data publication vary across disciplines and encourage research communities to develop citation systems that work well for them. Our recommended format for a data citation is as follows:

Creator (PublicationYear): Title. Publisher. Identifier

It may also be desirable to include information from two optional properties, Version and ResourceType (as appropriate). If so, the recommended form is as follows:

Creator (PublicationYear): Title. Version. Publisher. ResourceType. Identifier

What is DataCite?

We are a not-for-profit organisation formed in London on 1 December 2009. Our aim is to:

establish easier access to research data on the Internet
increase acceptance of research data as legitimate, citable contributions to the scholarly record
support data archiving that will permit results to be verified and re-purposed for future study.

Our structure

Just as research is global, DataCite is global, with member institutions offering services and advice directly where they are needed by the researchers.

We consist of a Managing Agent, currently the German National Library of Science and Technology, with Members and Associate Members around the world.
